헐리웃 스토리(Postcards from the Edge, 1990)의 엔딩 장면
약 10년쯤 전 우연히 OCN에서 봤던 영화다.
유명한 배우인 어머니와 그 그늘과 싸우며 배우의 길을 가려는 딸의 이야기.
내게는 모녀의 연기보다 사실 이 영화 마지막에 나오는 노래로 기억에 남는다.
물론 잔잔하게 진행되던 감정선이 이 마지막 노래로 응축, 발사되기도 하지만 메릴 스트립의 완벽에 가까운 노래는 그 자체로 OCN 광고가 나오고 있는데도 브라운관을 멍하게 보게 만들었다.
하지만 노래 제목도 모르겠고 Checking Out…Hotel…이라는 중간중간의 가사만 기억났었는데…
오늘 갑자기 울컥 생각나서 필사적으로 찾아냈다.
영화를 봤을 때도 이 노래 어떻게든 구해 보려 했지만 허사였는데
잉글랜드 랭커셔의 Eolake라는 친구가 이 영화를 열렬히 사랑하는 덕분에 나도 그 덕을 봤다.

정말 기차게 감사드립니다ㅠㅠ 이노래를 찾던중 보석같은 발견
영화가 그리 알려지지 않은 편이라 찾는 게 쉽지 않았어요 ^^
쩝… 메릴언니 어릴 때 오페라를 배웠다고 카던데 노래는 참 잘하지
근데…. 저 나이에 맘마미아에 출연했으면 오됴+비쥴이 딱 맞아 떨어졌을텐데 아깝다…..
그래도 전 크게 어색하다는 느낌은 안 들었어요 ^^
